We had a chat with three-time Emmy-winning composer and producer Jonathan Firstenberg, who, among his many achievements in the music industry, produced the iconic track "Sweet Victory" composed by Bob Kulik and David Glen Eisley and made famous by Spongebob and his Bikini Bottom Superband.
This classic rock anthem was featured in the classic "Band Geeks" episode of SpongeBob SquarePants. The performance became a cult favorite, and a petition to have "Sweet Victory" performed at the Super Bowl 2019 halftime show has received nearly 1 million signatures!
Now, the long wait is over. Spongebob and the Bikini Bottom Super Band will play the classic track in the opening segment of Nickelodeon's Super Bowl simulcast on Sunday. Yes, Spongebob at Super Bowl!
