About Seb Lefebvre

Seb Lefebvre is best known as the rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist for the internationally acclaimed pop-punk band Simple Plan. Over the years, Lefebvre has carved out a niche for himself not just as a member of the band, but also as a versatile musician, producer, and solo artist. This feature delves into his journey, his contributions to music, and his evolution as an artist.

Sebastien Lefebvre was born on June 5, 1981, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Growing up in a musically inclined family, Lefebvre developed an early passion for music. He started playing the guitar young and was heavily influenced by punk rock and alternative music scenes. His early influences included bands like Blink-182, Green Day, and Weezer.

In 1999, Lefebvre joined Simple Plan, a band formed by high school friends Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau, Jeff Stinco, and David Desrosiers. Lefebvre's addition to the lineup solidified the band’s sound, contributing to their energetic and catchy pop-punk style. Simple Plan quickly gained popularity with their 2002 debut album, No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls. Hits like "I'm Just a Kid" and "Perfect" catapulted them to international fame, with Lefebvre's rhythm guitar work and backing vocals playing a key role in their success.

Simple Plan's music resonated with a generation of fans, thanks to their relatable lyrics and infectious melodies. The band continued to release successful albums, including Still Not Getting Any (2004), Simple Plan (2008), Get Your Heart On! (2011) and Taking One for the Team (2016). Lefebvre's contributions to the band went beyond performing; he also co-wrote many of their songs, highlighting his talent as a songwriter.

While Simple Plan remained a central focus, Lefebvre also explored solo projects. In 2009, he released his debut solo EP, You Are Here / Vous Êtes Ici, which highlighted his softer, acoustic side. The EP was well-received and demonstrated Lefebvre's versatility as an artist.

In addition to his solo work, Lefebvre ventured into music production. He worked with various artists, helping them shape their sound and bring their musical visions to life. His production credits include collaborations with artists like Andee and Wilfred Le Bouthillier, where he played a significant role in crafting their albums. He is also one of the most sought-after production music composers.

Seb's music is available for licensing through APM Music.
